Norwich CT is known as the "Rose of New England". This came about from the first ariel view where seven hills formed what the author of the moniker were seven rose petals. These are individual roses from the Rose Garden just outside Mohegan Park.
About Geoffrey McLean
My first pictures were on a trip to New York City I won as a paper boy. Out of the entire roll of color film 3 pictures came out wonderfully and I was hooked. The best was the Statute of Liberty and I've been doing photography ever since. I do professional photos now of various items, especially on trips, and sell 36 postcards and notecards of Norwich, CT - somewhere around 2,000 postcards so far. If you are local you can buy postcards and notecards at Uncas Pharmacy in Norwichtown. I am also a US Civil War re-enactor - with a twist. I portray naval officers - and do first person impersonations of 2 in particular that I have great admiration for - Captain Percival Drayton, and Rear Admiral Joseph Lanman. The picture is one of me...
