The Blue Ridge Parkway on a foggy autumn morning. Vivid fall colors line both sides of the road, and fallen leaves decorate the roadbed like rose petals. Image taken on the parkway in the area south of Grandfather Mountain. From an HDR original. Standing in the middle of the Blue Ridge Parkway during fall colors to take a photograph has its dangers. Especially on a foggy day when visibility can be low. But this picture was so beautiful, the atmosphere so foggy I could not pass up the opportunity.

Very gorgeous Dan! I have been blessed to visit a few parts of the park way, and found myself wishing that I could have stay for a whole season :) I enjoy road photography, I love to photograph from the roads. as I am driving them. Yes taking your life in your hand for sure! LOL! Being aware of all happenings around me, eyes on all mirrors, and catching the shot. I love shooting our pig trail bypass, especially in spring, and fall, and its a true pig trail, lol...always every scene is on a blind curve, either in front, or behind you. I really love the old barns, and homesteads, and the stories they can tell, but a road scene? Road scenes are endless, and the infinity of their destinations, roads ever joining in with one another, to continue to lead us along our paths. Leading us to new places, to go where we have never been before, seeking the never ending story of life, and with each turn, we look forward, to the next story thats always, just beyond the next corner. This is beautiful!
