I agree with Roger's comment, and Min's words really summed it up: angles & harmony--true enough. vf

I think I like this best of all.. it has a wonderful lilting sense of the music being played.

You make the arch work. And make the viewer, me anyway, a little on edge! Listen, it's interesting to me how many women you paint versus how few man and HOW you paint men! The men have "soul", depth and do things like play instruments. The women, in my quick analysis which could be totally wrong, are ornamental and beautiful, fun or drowsy. I'm sorta playing around, here. Please don't get serious. But it's also kind true? Hey??? Looking forward to your response on this.

Yeah, I agree with Iris. The composition sets this one. Miro-esque? Calder influenced stabile? Very sculptural at any rate. Risky having that arch come out of the musician's head.

Love this one, interesting composition and color, compelling subject!

I'm always able to find just the right warm, cozy, and old fashioned Christmas cards on your site.My only wish is that you could offer the consumer a choice of a lovely matte paper,it would make the cards very rich and elegant looking.

Absolutely perfect! Framed it and it is a key focal point in a room I'm redecorating with a Classical Greek theme.

Artist's Description

From my "Blues" series, this was done in La Jolla, CA. The title takes it's name from a Langston Hughes poem and the musical composition of John Coltrane who would play this song as a tribute to Hughes work. As with the measures on a scale the work is done in multiples of five. Bricks, banisters, bars all fives.
