Description
This black and white image was captured in mid-January on the trail to China Beach near Sooke, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada not far from Victoria. China Beach is one of many oceanside areas preserved for public access along the stretch of Route 14 beginning at Sooke to Jordan River and beyond to Port Renfrew. The view is of the path leading down to the ocean through old growth and rain forest with some trees as old as 300 or more years. Morning sun lights a stretch of fog in the background. This image has been digitally enhanced.

Stunning black and white. Love the lines and play of light and dark. Beautiful rendition of this forest scene.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
