I purchased this for a gift and the recipient was blown away. The artistry is alive in this bag with Frida. Perfect!

I absolutely LOVE Monica's artwork and it's extra special to be able to carry her artwork around with me wherever I go. Quality of the bag is good, too!

I’m very pleased with my Back2bike bag from artist John Kurtyka. The bag is high quality so it holds my library books quite securely. And since I’m a bike rider, I love the picture, so unique, people notice it and comment so I tell them about this website and the unique works of this artist.

Gorgeous photo on the bag. Loved that I could adjust the photo size to suit my preference. Wanted to use for going to the health food store as I need to replace the 15 year old canvas, washable bags I have now. These will not last as long as those canvas bags. I could even deal with slight fading when I needed to wash them. These do not feel washable. Cheap mesh "fabric" on the interior will tear. Disappointed in the fabric on the inside and outside.

I was hoping for a heavyweight cotton canvas bag to use for grocery shopping; this will not be it. I wanted a bag that would be washable. This has a cheap mesh fabric on the interior that will tear in short order. The exterior is some sort of nylon or other synthetic fabric that I do not feel comfortable washing. I guess I didn't realize what kind of fabric it was made of. It is beautiful but not useful for my needs.

Artist's Description

This 300 year old live oak is found in City Park in New Orleans. "The Dueling Oak is the surviving tree of the original pair of Dueling Oaks, where countless duels were fought in the early days of New Orleans. Creole honor was a delicate thing, easily offended, and countless duels were fought here over women, perceived insults, and differing opinions, or just because. Duels were fought with pistols, sabers, colichemardes (a long sword), and even poison pills and Bowie knives, in a uniquely American twist on dueling. Indeed, the amount of duels fought here is quite staggering. According to the Times-Democrat, between 1834 and 1844 scarcely a day passed without duels fought at the Oaks. One Sunday in 1839 alone saw 10 consecutive duels beneath the trees. It is a wonder anyone was left alive to build the city." Sepia vesion.

About Steve Harrington

I am a retired professor at a college in Toronto and taught critical thinking and communications. In the past I also taught literature, creative thinking and problem solving. I've also had the opportunity to teach about and lead tours to a variety of world destinations including backpacking through the Canadian Rockies, traveling above the Arctic Circle in Norway, into the Sahara in Morocco, and throughout Southeast Asia with a special focus on Thailand. It was my four tours to India that formed me most profoundly, both as a person and as a photographer. It is a magic land of extremes in every sense of the word. More recently I had the opportunity to expand my world view with travel to the Peruvian Andes, the back roads of West...
