This looks like a beautiful place to walk Sharon and I love the green tones throughout the image. :-)

I keep waiting to see a princess on a white horse appear...a favorite and a vote.

Hi Sharon! ...thanks sooo much for your kind comment on my painting. You have many beautiful photographs. You are gifted and a blessed person to live in such a beautiful place where you can utilize your gift. It's very hard to pick a favorite, but since live very near the Rocky Mountains, this photo caught my eye. At first, I thought, "Hawaii has a forest that looks like a Rocky Mountain forest?" So, I decided to read your lovely description. Alaska is one of those places I would like to visit, too! is Hawaii. Blessings to you!

Very nice :)

Beautiful place...

I love this scene Sharon. For me it could be right here in Ontario, Canada, thousands of miles away from Alaska!

Absolutely gorgeous, Sharon.

So beautiful and inviting. Your photos are so painterly - love your style!

This fine painting of the Tree of Life or ”Yggdrasil” as it is known in the old Nordic mythology - we live in the nordic part of Europe, in Sweden. When you look at this painting, many thougts comes to your mind.

Artist's Description

The groves were God's first temples. Ere man learned To hew the shaft, and lay the architrave, And spread the roof above them, where he framed The lofty vault, to gather and roll back The sound of anthems; in the darkling wood, Amidst the cool and silence, he knelt down, And offered to the Mightiest solemn thanks And supplication. For his simple heart Might not resist the sacred influences, Which, from the stilly twilight of the place, And from the gray old trunks that high in heaven Mingled their mossy boughs, and from the sound Of the invisible breath that swayed at once All their green tops, stole over him, and bowed His spirit with the thought of boundless power And inaccessible majesty. Ah, why Should we, in the world's riper years, neglect God's ancient sanctuaries, and adore Only among the crowd, and under roofs, That our frail hands have raised? Let me, at least, Here, in the shadow of this aged wood, Offer one hymn . thrice happy, if it find Accept...
