This is just outstanding, Anna! It really comes alive. You are one very talented lady!

With her arthritic hands, her back unused to standing for long and needing to use the iron railing to relieve the weight on her back and the ensuing pain, her expression somewhat amused and showing her thoughts on life's irony and how she was once active in its hectic goings on, her having planted a child's pinwheel amongst her flowers to show the world she's still young in spirit and all these things showing her sturdy nature and that she is ready for what comes next in living her inevitable end game of aging. She seems to be a hero. Great thought provoking painting. Much applause to you, Anna, for being a very fine and perceptive artist. Saludos, Jim Barber Hove, Mexico

fantastic facial expression and painting Anna! the colors are beautiful as well. .... It would be a delight to see your awesome work added to the group Word Worth 1000 Pics, as the Word/theme for this Week is "OLD" .... http://fineartamerica.com/groups/word-worth-1000-pics.html

Hi Anna; You are such a great technician! I love the feeling that this lady is somewhat comical, but don't tell her that! It looks like she wants to yell something, but is too amused to do so. You can see the beginnings of a smile. She seems hardly a person to put a pin wheel in her flowers, but what a touch of genius to include it in the painting. You're one of my favorite artists.

Thank you, Joseph and Bonnie! Wow, you both understood exactly what I was going for in this painting. I loved the contrast of the pin wheel with her expression, as well. That was the goal. :-) Thank you so much for your kind comments!
