Description
digital multilayered painting by drasko regul ©, built as the manipulation of an highly abstract fractal (also multilayered, each layer rendered separately in apophysis) featuring many spirals and pearls with a central big pearl floating in front, amidst an even bigger, yet barely visible, transparent bubble. the bottom half of the main pattern seamlessly mirrors it’s upper half, but flipped horizontally, just like the images on play-cards. or… should i rather say: ‘the right half of the main pattern seamlessly mirrors it’s left half, but flipped vertically’?... actually, both are true! (this flipping was done in apophysis, not during the standard postprocessing in photoshop!) the overall image vaguely resembles a strange device with a button that should be pushed. color theme is light golden-orange-brown-cream, on a gradient (dark brown to dark golden) background. the format of this picture is square. because of it’s very elaborate pattern and details of self-similarity, it is highly recommended that this piece be observed as a big print - length at least some 35" (it is crafted in resolution high enough to support such dimensions, even bigger - just click on the preview and you'll see a segment of the whole pic in full resolution and get the impression how would it look like printed big)!
when observed from distance, it gives the impression of an interesting, decorative abstract shape, puzzling with the mentioned weird flipped reflections.
but when observed closely, it releases another vibe, showing self-similarity of details ever deeper and deeper! it mesmerizes, pulls in, stirs the beholder’s mind, either bringing it into the deep, calm meditative or agitating it to the playful co-creation of stories of life, universe and everything (forgive me, douglas adams wherever you are)!...

Marvelous fractal/digital abstract with pleasing soft and subtle design (fractal) elements...and nicely layered fractal motifs. Exceptional work Drasko!

I really like the color palette of this one -- rich yet subdued, with elements of light drawing the eye in for a closer look. The repetition of the shape in the central circle -- lightly and understatedly done -- is a nice touch. There's a sense of living, breathing movement to this.
