Our "Abandoned Property" photograph was taken In East Texas, I called it that because not only does the house look abandoned but the fence is also broken down and in ill repair. The grass has not been mowed, or is dying. It looks like there is some pretty serious damage to the roof of the house.
Do you, like me, wonder sometimes what happened to this house? Did the owner die and had no survivors or did the survivors not care and just left it abandoned? Is their an heirship struggle going on in the courts? Was the house turned back to a bank or financial institution who has in turn abandoned it or is no longer in business? Was there property damage and no insurance, so the property was just left to rot and decay? Or simply, could the person just not afford to tear the old house down? It is sad, to me, to see this. I like to see productive use of a piece of property.
