The beach towel is really just for laying on inasmuch as it is too big and heavy to put around your body, which is just fine. The artwork in it is beautiful. I can't wait to use it.

Wow - I didn't realise it was going to be that big! It's a gift for a young member of the family - I think he'll be thrilled as he's a tractor fanatic at 6 years old. A practical gift too. The towel has a smoother upper side so it'll be more comfortable to sit on at the beach. It seems to have a thick absorbent power so no usual skinny beach towel.

Hi Carole, Thanks for featuring me recently. Much appreciated. Also thanks for continuing to contribute to MycoArt. This is the aborted entoloma which is I think is actually a honey mushroom, aborted by Entoloma arbortivum, if I remember correctly. Its reportedly edible. Last summer I saw people collecting buckets of these near Niagara Falls. I've never tried it though. Cheers, Tim

Many thanks on all fronts, Tim! Glad to know what this is because there always seems to be some around July/August/Sept - sometimes on the ground, sometimes growing from rotting stumps. You are expert in these things and the MycoArt group is wonderful. I hesitate to post mushrooms (and I have TONS!) because they are the very devil to ID.
