Description
This piece is part of my impasto (heavy paint) orchid study. I used four different texture mediums in the four different squares you see in this piece including crackle medium, resin paste, modeling gel and ceramic stucco. Green Acrylic paints were used in the following: Spanish Olive, Avocado, Wedgewood & Brush Foliage. Other colors used were burnt umber, titanium white and yellow oxide. Technique used to create the orchids was done in impasto with a pallette knife. This piece was in an Art & Soul show before mothers day and was loved by many. It was painted on a 12 x 12 x 1.5 Wood Artist Panel by Ampersand Museum Series.

wow thank you everybody! This was another one of my experiments that kept me up all night until it was finished. I know i can do better, I just have to keep experimenting and trying new techniques so look for future orchids !!
