Artist's Description

The abstract quality of the harsh sunlight on the tractor tires drew me to this composition. Plus my favorite color is red . I really enjoyed painting this small acrylic, it was very different from my normal subject matter.

About Carla Dabney

Born and raised in S.C. I find the southern landscape fascinating with no end to beautiful and interesting subjects to be found. From the ocean to the mountains and all that is inbetween I begin by taking my own photographs.Over the years I have acquired hundreds of wonderful images from which to paint. The difficulty for me is in narrowing my choice to begin a painting. I work only in water media with a preference for watercolors and I have no formal training. My inspiration for watercolors began in the late 1970's at the Greenville Museum of Art with their large collection of Andrew Wyeth paintings and more recently a travelling show by Mary Whyte has fueled the flame for me artistically.
