It's hard to imagine that Santorini is a remnant of a much larger volcanic island that exploded 3600 years ago. The effect of this blast was of such magnitude that the ash from the eruption caused crop failure as far away as China. Santorini is calm and peaceful today, shimmering in the beautiful light of the Agean Sea.

Well R/W Bob,I'm all packed and nowhere to move to (yet!). So where better to spend some time this afternoon than here in Santorini. And that's exactly where I feel I am ,looking down on this beautiful view of light and color and shape and dreaminess.The salmon pinks seem to set off those mystical blues. In fact my eyes follow the blues all around this lovely picture ,to the far sleepy horizon and back to the vibrant hum of the picturesque buildings. It's so lovely that I have completely forgotten what I was going to say next! Mesmerized! L/F
