Description
Can you believe it? I’ve just passed through Monument Valley on an overcast day. The clouds are dramatic, forming garlands on the buttes. I was just starting a very long drive home but could not pass by without stopping. But the crowning jewel was this volcanic plug south of the valley known as Agathla Peak (Aghaałą́ in Navajo, El Capitan in Spanish). A volcanic plug some 25 million years old was miraculously brought back to life by the play of light on the clouds. Can you believe it?
