About Nancy Matus
Arizona's Sonoran Desert botany and geography offer a rich study in contrast, aspects of which Chandler artist Nancy Matus explores in her paintings. Born in Wichita, Kansas, Matus has called Arizona home for over three decades. "This hot, dry landscape didn't appeal to me much in the beginning, but over the years it has become precious and almost spiritual to me" she admits. Great job, I have on e of these plants in my front yard, it's huge. I call it a century plant. Approximately 10 feet tall and the same in diameter. It has not had the center chute come out yet but the base is covered with small plants, babies. Isn't this the plant where tequila comes from? Have a great day.
