Description
The Royal Palace, the Alcazar, of Seville Spain was constructed by King Pedro I in 1364 at the site of a Moorish Palace. It is still actively used by the Royal Family.
The term Alcazar is used by many Spanish cities to name an ancient Muslim palace or royal residence from the time of the Moorish invasion.
Construction has continued over the years with patio additions, interior modifications and redecorating. The site has been featured in several motion pictures in recent years and is considered to be one of the most diverse displays of architectural styles.
Along with the Seville Cathedral it is also a UNESO World Heritage Site.
