Description

Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

Artist's Description

Alexander Alexandrovich Friedman (1888-1925), Russian and Soviet cosmologist and mathematician. Friedman, who lived and worked in Leningrad, is considered the founder of modern cosmology. After World War I, in 1922, he found a solution to Einstein's general relativity equations that indicated an expanding universe, a prediction famously confirmed by Edwin Hubble's observations in 1929. Friedman, though, had died in 1925 after contracting typhoid fever. Friedman's other interests included hydrodynamics and meteorology. In July 1925, he had participated in a balloon flight to an altitude of over 7 kilometres. Photographed in Russia in 1920.
