My first color oil painting done in Alla Prima style with a still life set up during class with Katherine Porter at Massachusetts College of Art in 1977. She was then expanding into abstract expressionism. In oil painting one we did several of our first oil paintings on 24 inch x 24 inch cut masonite boards primed with gesso. Over the years I lost track of where these all went, but I was lucky to find a slide which was converted into digital format as these were painted in pre-digital times.

These rich textures call to be felt with the emotion and the sense of touch. Wonderful still life work Nancy, as all of your little worlds of still life paintings are. F/L.
Nancy Griswold replied:
Thanks RAndy, a real early work when I began to work from life yet elements I still enjoy about this. Thank you for your painterly sensitivity and kind words and of course the F/L!!!
