Mike Lawrence is an incredible artist with a range of diverse styles. I'm a fan! This bag is exactly what I was hoping it would be: Well made, durable, and nice -n- big so I can carry LITERALLY everything I need in it! I can fit a laptop, chargers, wallet, phone, keys, and a sweatshirt, and any other small items I want. Great quality, beautiful art design! Highly recommend.

Surprisingly quick response and delivery time . The customizing process was easy to figure out , and the bag was exactly as i had ordered it . It's perfect to carry around my sketch pad and pencils or framed art work . The fabric is heavy weight , and the handle is sturdy and well attached . Good overall construction and the image quality is bright and clear .

Received this lovely tote. The image printed beautifully on the fabric. I ordered the small 13x13 size and find it attractive and handy for carrying odds and ends. I'm looking forward to showing it off.

Ordered this in the generous large size. It is beautiful, very dynamic. Am very happy with the quality of the image and the bag itself.

Artist's Description

Allan Dwan estimated that he had directed over 1,400 films, including his numerous one reelers, in his 50 years plus career. Tucson's Lyric Theater in 1919 showed his adventure tale "Soldiers of Fortune," starring Wallace Beery. Little is known about the Lyric other that it was built in 1919, demolished in 1966, and seated 913. In 1930, construction was started on the more upscale Fox Tucson Theater, a block away. The Ivancovich & Co. Building is at the end of the block, with a purple dome I painted in 2008. The Tucson Opera House, which opened in 1897 is right next to it. The theater began as a vaudeville venue and presenter of other forms of live theater, which included a prestigious appearance by the reigning diva, Sarah Bernhardt, in 1911. Allan Dwan's most celebrated sound film is 1949's "The Sands of Iwo Jima" staring John Wayne; Duke's first Academy Award nomination. He lost to Broderick Crawford. But he won 20 years later with "True Grit." http://www.youtube.com/wa...

About David Lee Guss

I first became obsessed with photography and motion pictures while growing up in post WW2 Manila in the Philippine Islands in the late 1940's/early 1950's. Film noirs were a particular influence. But my first love remains the theater. I acted in numerous amateur productions from 1958 to 1978. In 1979 I earned a MA in drama from the University of Arizona; earlier getting a BA in English from the University of Minnesota, where I co-founded the first film society on campus and ran it for four years. While at the U of A, I studied with the master black and white photo essayist W. Eugene Smith (1918-1978) the last year of his life. I am the last person cited in Jim Hughes' definitive biography of Gene, as I wrote about attending his final...
