Description
This is a play archaeological dig - created at a zoo so kids can look for dinosaur "bones" and such, unearth them, and then bury them again. The "sand" is that shredded rubber from tires (I guess). The "sand box" is an enclosure with a solid back seen here and three open sides. These kids had decided to bury one another instead of the bones. They were over to one side, hence the light streaming in on them. I know the girl being buried doesn't look as if she's enjoying herself, but she was. I deliberately picked this one out of several shots precisely because I thought her enigmatic expression was more interesting than a smile.
