This piece is part of a body of work inspired by the James Webb Space Telescope at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Twenty-three artists were chosen by NASA to visit, learn about and create work inspired by the James Webb Space Telescope - a once in a life-time experience.
This piece was created by a series of layers of liquid pours. Translucent layers of paint and inks give my work it's signature appearance.
Jessica Lee is a graduate of York College of Pennsylvania where she received a BA in Fine Art with a minor in art history. She is currently the executive director for the Pennsylvania Arts Experience, a non-profit art and tourism organization. Additionally, she curates both for the local art association's members' sales gallery and at the Pennsylvania Arts Experience Gallery under the guidance of Rob Evans. Additionally, Lee continues to create and exhibit as a professional artist. Lee focuses on textures, lines, shapes and what she refers to as surface depth. A sentiment that has held much personal meaning for her is the Nietzsche quote, There are no beautiful surfaces without a great and terrible depth. Using this as a metaphor...
