Alma-Tadema is one of my all time favorites .I have not found many in museums, seems one collector owns many of them

Historically, people have either fallen in love with Alma-Tadema's work, or have dismissed him as a pseudo-romantic hack. My wife and I love his work and feel it's remarkable. You may want to check on the collection of Alan Funt, the fellow who created Candid Camera on television, as he collected Alma-Tadema works at a time when the artist was 'out of favor' and amassed an extraordinary group of paintings.

This is very fine art. I do not understand why nobody else has commented yet except me. This work is outstanding.
