For a bird loving friend it’s perfect.Made her smile

It didn't turn out as good as I expected, although it is still very nice. I suspect it's because it is so much larger than the original painting. The colors are not nearly as bright as the painting, that is they look faded.

Agaves were one of the most important plant groups for Indian tribes, second only to yuccas. They were a major source for both food and fiber. Agave fibers were used to make many needed items such as brushes, bowstrings, nets, slings, shoes, rope, and thread. Leaves were first soaked, then pounded to release their fibers. The fibers were next dried and then combed to separate the threads. Almost all parts of the agave, leaves, flower, stalk, blossoms, and seeds, can be eaten. About Joe Schofield

As a kid I was fascinated with photographs. Look, Life magazine. National Geographic. That well-captured interplay of light and shadow...the notion of people, places and moments - all suspended in time. My first "real" camera was a Minolta Srt101. I was seduced. I learned how to develop film, and I still recall the smell of the developer...my eyes adjusting to the red filter light...and the magic and delight of watching images begin to emerge. Life, family and a career intervened, and then...there was digital. Liberation! At this point in my life, photography is the creative medium that allows me to share personal moments and adventures. In some sense, I feel it conveys who I am, and soothes the darker moments ......
