This is an outstanding piece of work. The aura of Powell River with its resident fishing boats is portrayed beautifully. The vessel “Shirley” is very thought provoking to me personally.

Artist's Description
This is a companion piece to 'the river of deceit' which is a song by Mad Season, a band that was formed by Alice In Chains singer Layne Staley, John Baker Saunders, Barrett Martin and Mike McCready.
When I first heard the song I came up with a story using the lyrics, since I am not a writer, I usually tell stories by drawing them out. The story involves an angel and a demon fighting for the soul of an elderly man. Eventually I'll finish the whole series telling the whole story.
I recommend you listen to the Mad Season Album "Above" it was the first and only album by the band. After the deaths of Saunders and Staley, they disbanded around 1999. I had always hoped they would make another album but alas, it was not meant to be.
