Description
This picture represents how the birth of Jesus is announced.
The Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary, greeting her: “Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women.” Mary pondered the meaning of this greeting and was troubled by it. Gabriel reassured her with the words: “Do not be afraid, Mary, for thou hast found grace with God. And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb and shalt bring forth a son; and thou shalt call His name Jesus.” Prophecies became realities. The work of redemption had begun.
Annunciation of the Lord - Luke 1:26.
Prayer:
“Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.”
