Photographed in Kennebunkport Maine by my cousin Susan. Edited in Topaz Studio...
Like many of Maine’s coastal towns, Kennebunkport first prospered as a shipbuilding center. In the late 1800s, affluent summer visitors would arrive by train from Boston and stay at the more than 30 grand hotels and mansions along the coastline. Today, the town remains a popular getaway and summer destination.
True Mainers say the best way to see Maine is from the water. Cruising the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Maine does indeed offer the best views of shore. Touring Maine's vast coast by boat you can see everything from sandy beaches and towering lighthouses on rocky cliffs to remote islands.
