Another Sleepless Night
My child is out there an he's on his own.
He must have had ill feelings about being at home.
I'm told not to worry but how can I not.
He is my son or have you forgot.
Sure he's got problems, he's twixt in between.
Understandable, for he is only a teen.
But there are so many dangers, so much rage.
Any horror could happen in this day and age.
I've talked to his friends and the police I did call.
Yet still, I feel I have hit a brick wall.
I wish he would phone so his voice I could hear.
Just a small message would rid me this fear.
My husband and other children also feel the loss.
Yes, they help in barring this unwanted cross.
But my mind won't stop asking all of the "Whys?"
And my heart has none of the answers, it only cries.
My worries, my concerns, my fears can be no other.
My child is out there and I'm his Mother.
Therefore, another sleepless night, what else can I do?
