Upper Antelope Canyon is shown with a ray of sunlight. Antelope Canyon is an icon for outdoor enthusiasts as well as photographers. Large numbers of tourists flock to this beautiful place to experience its wonder. To photograph this area takes a good measure of patience. Light in the canyon is generally good as there is so much reflected light from the rock. I used a tripod for this image as it is really the only way to get the exposure in this darkened space. The colors in the image are all perfectly natural...I shot this a few years ago on color reversal/slide film. Detail in the rock is excellent. Upper Antelope Canyon has these wonderful rays of light that flood the space in the early hours which add another level to the beauty of the scene. Lower Antelope Canyon is somewhat less travelled as a long series of laddders/stairs are used to traverse the canyon. Please see my Lower Antelope Canyon images as well.
