Description
In Antelope Canyon the Navajo tour guides often throw sand into the light beam to create the famous light. There are hundreds of pictures of that so I rather looked for the actual act of sand tossing to see what that looked like. The beauty is really not in the light coming in since without the sand you cannot actually see it, it is only a square or circle on the floor in white so strong you can barely look at it--you can see that on the bottom left. The beam itself is only visible when the sand particles reflect the light coming in.
There are many areas in the canyons where this happens and each at a different time. Here you can see the flying sand and also the mystical shape the falling sand creates like a veil in front of the larger wall surface on the right. Right behind the beam on the top there is also a shape as if there was a person standing there. This is the most interesting place I have ever been to so far.
