Our throw pillows are made from 100% spun polyester poplin fabric and add a stylish statement to any room. Pillows are available in sizes from 14" x 14" up to 26" x 26". Each pillow is printed on both sides (same image) and includes a concealed zipper and removable insert (if selected) for easy cleaning.

Artist's Description

Apollo by George Balanchine "Balanchine's first collaboration with Stravinsky, Apollo, depicts the young god as he is inspired into adulthood by the muses of poetry, mime, and dance." Apollo is the oldest Balanchine ballet in New York City Ballet's repertory. Originally titled Apollon Musag'te, it created a sensation when it was first performed in 1928, and was Balanchine's first major collaboration with Stravinsky for Diaghilev�s Ballets Russes. With this dramatic and powerful ballet, the 24-year-old Balanchine achieved international recognition. The ballet was first performed by New York City Ballet in 1951, with the title translated from the Greek as Apollo, Leader of the Muses. Starting in 1957, the ballet was called simply Apollo, and over the years, Balanchine stripped the ballet of much of its narrative content. Elizabeth Tillar has lived in New Hampshire for 17 years, teaching philosophy and religious studies for the last ten years. She has long been captivated by images and works exclusively in the medium of photography. Earlier, she was a choreographer and performing artist and finds deep similarities of composition between dance and nature photography.
