This photo was taken on the roof of Castle Sant' Angelo, Rome, and it's a representation of Archangel Michael. Legend holds that he appeared atop the mausoleum, sheathing his sword as a sign of the end of the 590 plague, thus lending the castle its present name. But this is not the best thing you can photograph while on top of the castle. I was really sad I didn't have my tripod with me. You can do an 180 angle panorama (if you can get the other visitors out of the way).
