This is my first purchase from Fine Art America. I had an idea in my mind of what I wanted to hang in our newly renovated master bathroom wall. This is a type of blackbird called a Great-tailed Grackle. Blackbirds are thought to bring blessings and psychic insights. They have a very mystical, magical energy about them and are symbolic of higher consciousness. They are believed to have the power of spiritual sight and the ability to move between the the seen and unseen worlds. According to Druid legends, Rhiannon had three blackbirds whose song put the listener into a trace which enabled him or her to travel into the otherworld.
