The floral arrangement was purchased for my home from a local boutique-The Hen House. One day I decided to bring it upstairs and place it on a wood table along with some drapery. I proceeded to paint the bouquet and showed it to the floral designer who made the arrangement. She was excited to see the painting.

As a young girl Barbara would visit a secluded site in the woods neighboring her upstate New York home to observe and sketch birds in their natural habitat. She attended the State University of New York at New Paltz and the University of New York at Albany. At New Paltz, Barbara studied under George Wexler and Sheldon Schoenberg whom she credits with teaching her the fundamentals of drawing (Prof Schoenberg told his students if they couldn’t learn to “see” they would never be artists.) She credits this with providing her the foundation for her paintings. While...
