Artist's Description
This is an impression, based solely on images photographed by the artist, of one of my favorite creatures, who are around the cliffs and valley year round; this one being based on a raven sculpture I make and relating to the beautiful blues of the sky around here and the hint of turquoise in the body of the creature.
About Thor Sigstedt
Thor Sigstedt was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1952 and was soon to realize that his family was slightly nomadic, unique and loaded down with artists and musicians. His family moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico first around 1950 and then his mother, Mansi Kern, divorced his father, Val Sigstedt (Sigstedt Studios, Artlight) and remarried to Ken Kern (author Owner-Built Home, etc) moving to California near Oakhurst, where they experimented living in intentional poverty and off the grid, giving Thor his early experiences with cave for refrigerator and hauling water at night as a five year old using a one-gallon glass juice jug, composting and living on the land with an old Indian "poacher" named Tom as a babysitter.
