Love my mug, retired my other mug and now this is my go to.
This was created in multiple layers during the onslaught of Tropical Storm Alberto. It uses multiple medium, including oil, acrylics, pastels, charcoal, graphite, ink. I hope viewers find it pleasant and serene as I felt during the automatic or intuitive creative process.
I took up painting seriously after my two sons returned from war. Death hit too close to both of them and I needed a way to decompress. I'd always loved photography and drew my first trees at the age of five. I took a myriad of water media classes from some wonderful instructors in Nashville, and classes in Abstract Expressionism through MOMA and I have a fascination for new processes and unrestrained curiosity. I break rules, use all types of paints, pastels, charcoal, graphite and more to create abstract and figurative works I hope uplift the viewer.
