Description
At The Rickety Bridge Winery's vineyard in South Africa, the traditional rose bushes at the ends of grapevine rows are in recycled wine barrels. Did you know that a new standard size (225 liters/300 bottles of wine) oak wine barrel in 2012 cost almost $1000?! Roses are used in vineyards as an early warning of mildew. This landscape is backed by a lovely blue sky and mountain range.

Love this! A weathered barrel with a newer one and both framing a vineyard, mountain and waterfall. What a place! I'm so glad you posted this. And a warm welcome to you and your work from the Wine Growing Enjoying and Pouring Group. Looking forward to more of your unique eye.

Thank you so very much, Christine, for the feature, the warm welcome, and the lovely compliments. Truth be told, I don't think there is a waterfall in the photo, though! ;)
