This is such an incredible and beautiful capture Julie!!!! watching him/her roost on top of a dead palm tree, he looks so comfy:) I've always dreamed of seeing/photographing an anhinga! Florida seems like paradise:) F/V/L
Julie Adair replied:
Thank you so much Heather! I see them all the time and believe it or not I do not often take photos of them. I just happened to see this one and thought it may turn out to be a good shot! Florida is paradise, at least I think so! I am lucky to live so close to all of these beautiful birds, but we do not have some of the gorgeous landscape and wild animals that Canada has. :)

Perfect timing on your anhinga bird image Julie. Is that food in his mouth of a feather? Either way it's awesome that you captured that. :-) FV
Julie Adair replied:
Thanks Nick, it is a feather actually it is the down that is under the feathers. All of these birds can be seen grooming constantly. I guess they get bored! LOL

What a cool capture!
Julie Adair replied:
Thank you Pamela, I typically do not take shots of the Anhinga, as they are not one of my favorite subjects to work with but the pose, lighting and shadows were such that I was moved to snap this one. :)
