Painting - Acrylic On Canvas Over Sealed Hardboard Panel
"Autumn Song" ~~~ Original painting sold to Larry S. in Canada! Thank you, Sir! ~~~ A geisha prepares a new song to entertain guests at a coming feast.
The background floral is inspired by a section of a Meiji Period Japanese screen that I saw for sale by an antiques dealer.
The chrysanthemum is called "kiku" in Japan. This autumn flower is lovingly cultivated, highly prized, and widely celebrated there. Since ancient times, Kiku has been used as a first name for baby girls.
The image wraps onto the side edges; all are painted, sealed and glossy. Fine weave canvas, on 8x10" sealed hardboard panel, museum quality, archival. Media used: Liquitex Acrylics & Winsor/Newton Acrylics.
