Bali Island Dreams was painted before I ever dreamed of coming to Bali – but I renamed it to include ‘Bali’ because it seemed to be a prophetic image of my love affair with Bali. The lower nude figure seems to be surfing – something I had no concept of before I came to Bali (surfing is very popular here) and to the right of the lower nude is a bending red figure that seems to be diving into the waves (something that I have definitely done here!) Below the lower nude are three symbolic figures – I see these as being different aspects of myself looking on – an orange-headed wavy armed figure at left, and two blobby blue figures at bottom right. The top nude is strong – a dancing or prancing figure, makes me think of throwing the discus, with a strongly defined right arm (I was busily into working and my ‘Masculine’ physical real world at the time!) with the left arm (representing the Feminine, intuition, feelings) not being visible – prophetic indeed for it has been my journey in Bali to work very much with these two aspects of the self – Yin and Yang if you like – and to integrate them, and this is what I help others do now also, through my healing work. At top left is a pale yellow, feminine moon, with a bright red, masculine sun to its right – red sphere - representing ‘action in all directions!’ At the centre is ‘the tree of life’ – the tree of knowledge, the symbol of life itself, Adam and Eve in the garden of eden… with an ‘all seeing eye’ behind – an idea of God – the wise part within ourselves, the knowing one, witnessing the scene and understanding what is going on, on a deep level. It also seems that the two nudes are 'in the forest' - the wild place where we access what is deep in our psyche. I am not a lesbian, but it seems a bit saphic to me! A lot of red in the background of this painting – the colour of the physical world, action, sexuality – and orange – the colour of relationship and flow. A happening, exciting painting with rainbow colours – fresh - it makes me think of the sound of waves, and children calling on the beach – which certainly evokes Bali for me!

Cool..will you add some description, how you look 'colourful' Bali is in this painting?

I’m very pleased with my Back2bike bag from artist John Kurtyka. The bag is high quality so it holds my library books quite securely. And since I’m a bike rider, I love the picture, so unique, people notice it and comment so I tell them about this website and the unique works of this artist.

Gorgeous photo on the bag. Loved that I could adjust the photo size to suit my preference. Wanted to use for going to the health food store as I need to replace the 15 year old canvas, washable bags I have now. These will not last as long as those canvas bags. I could even deal with slight fading when I needed to wash them. These do not feel washable. Cheap mesh "fabric" on the interior will tear. Disappointed in the fabric on the inside and outside.

I was hoping for a heavyweight cotton canvas bag to use for grocery shopping; this will not be it. I wanted a bag that would be washable. This has a cheap mesh fabric on the interior that will tear in short order. The exterior is some sort of nylon or other synthetic fabric that I do not feel comfortable washing. I guess I didn't realize what kind of fabric it was made of. It is beautiful but not useful for my needs.

I wanted some pretty tote canvas tote bags to replace the durable canvas bags I use for trips to the health food store. While certainly beautiful, this bag will not be useful for that purpose. The interior is made of that lightweight, cheap mesh fabric that tears with the slightest bit of stress on it. I was hoping for heavy canvas, but this is an odd fabric that will not hold up for what I wanted to use it for.
