Love the painting and the rich colorful blues, reds, greens, & yellows! A nice addition to our cowboy/southwest decor vibe.

Beautifully expressed rendition of the Shrine of the Bab. The frame and matting showcase the print. We have it prominently on our living room wall with other sacred pictures.

I think the frame and mat work very well with this, it is really impressive in person. Grouped with a small Grant Wood with high quality lighting it sets the mood for a Georgia farmhouse.

When I found out I am related to this wonderful woman, I knew I had to celebrate with something special. The piece is beautiful and will be on my wall very soon.

Artist's Description
My rooftop-tall banana tree outside the kitchen window was still
bearing flowers and fruit in late October. I had to photograph
and paint this flower and its banana crop before the first frost.
Such beauty lost in one cold night.
About Larry Wright
My retirement from four-decades of human resources management came in February, 2005. Soon after, I became intensely interested in water color painting, having dabbled in it a bit through the years. I started putting in eight-hour days studying painting and learning basic skills needed to pursue this path. The library had the books and videos needed and I took a water color class with a nationally-known artist. Painting was my everyday passion from early 2005 until sometime in late 2010. I painted well over 400 pieces, participated in art shows, joined the local art society, read the trade magazines and digested everything I could find to build my skills. I did win some ribbons, got some work placed in local homes and museums and our...

First off....I bought premixed....and it is fairly expensive vs watercolor paint. It has a "sticky" quality not in W/C's, and it is harder to clean from the brushes. It takes a soap and water clean-up. The plus.....brilliant color....especially if mixed with W/C. For sure.....try it !! Wyeth was a big proponent, ya know.

Another note: Larry I still LOVE this gorgeous picture. Larry, I need your advice. I have not tried egg tempera. Is it easy and /or fun to use? How is it different?
