I took this photo at the amazing Sunnylands gardens, part of the Annenberg estate in Rancho Mirage, near Palm Springs, CA. The plant was about 12 inches wide and I shot directly over it. The photo has been edited using photo painting techniques.

This almost abstract and colorful art would fit many home and workplace decors and make a great gift.

I am a self-taught artist and have been painting in oils for many years. At the same time my photography has developed following the same principles of composition and color. Much of my work has a "save the environment" theme and my inspiration comes from nature and visions of light and color. My interest in art began in the 5th grade with a remarkable teacher who, along with all the other subjects, made time for art and music every day.
