Artist's Description

Bast, Baset, Bastet An ancient Egyptian goddess originating in the Nile Delta, circa 930 BC. Her power and persona was so acknowledged and beloved by the ancient Egyptians, that a city, Bubastis, was named in honor of her. Bubastis, a central trade center and location of her temple was situated in a harbor formed in the shape of the crescent moon. Bast represents the delightful feminine qualities that depicts the finer influences Egypt had on the world: including cosmetics, perfume, oils, fine art, jewelry and dress.
