This striking and highly imaginative image caught my eye again. Indeed as you mentioned somewhere, the only Demons that exist are those we create ourselves. :-)

John Alexander replied:

Sorry to have missed this response Hartmut. It really is amazing how many demons we can create for ourselves to be tormented by, isn't it?

I know I have commented on this one before John, but noticed it here in the activity section. Powerful image, but not so frightening to me as a deep longing and exploration of the self. Love it. You are excellent with depicting an array of our mental processes. Hope your world is good.

John Alexander replied:

My world is good my friend. Thank you very much for dropping by again. It is ALWAYS great to hear from you.

A superior image of being or becoming 'disturbed' . It appears that the world is getting darker and darker , what with the mindless, murderous ISIS actions, and other troubling events spewed out daily by the mass-media. Yet, as you mentioned, we can all seek and rejoice in our Inner Light which can never be extinguished by anyone or anything. :-)

John Alexander replied:

You are so very right my friend. We can always choose to look at that light as opposed to the darkness that seems to surround us in so many ways. This image was created to illustrate my unraveling at the hands of addiction... I sure am happy that you were able to, like me, find hope in it anyway! As always, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts Hartmut. It is always great to hear from you.

For some, the fight with the demons is a never ending battle. Some win, others sink into the void of despair, the realm of demons. March on bro and pick up the gold along the way....l.v.f.....awsome

John Alexander replied:

So true my friend. It has been my experience that the demons are a part of who I am. I tried so hard to run away from them. My victory came when I realized I cannot run... I must find peace within. Simply understanding those demons as just an aspect of me helped me to heal from the wounds I continuously caused. Thank you for the thoughts my friend.

This is a very powerful piece John. It is exactly what a little boy told me when he saw people smoking. He described leeches sucking off of them. You have captured the enervating energy vampires so well! Bravo!

John Alexander replied:

Children have such amazing perspectives of the world around them. As a parent, it has never ceased to amaze me whenever those unique observations were shared with me. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your observations as well as his Susan. I really do enjoy and appreciate the thoughts that people share!

John your works are so profound. Though I feel many of them are open to various interpretations, depending of course upon the viewer, there is one indisputable fact, they are steeped in truth. Your works are beautifully done and are in a realm of their own. Yes Master John, rest assured, the likes of DaVinci, Monet, and Dali to name a few, are holding a seat just for you in the in the big studio of the great beyond.

John Alexander replied:

Ha. DaVinci, Monet, and Dali would be some pretty deep company my friend. Could you imagine hanging around with those guys?? I think I could have a couple drinks with them (( hey, in the afterlife I am pretty sure I could safely have a drink or two )). Thanks for the props my friend. It means the world.

Oh my goodness yes indeed......this is familiar territory to me. Frightening and such a fight everyday not to be back there. You move me beyond words John. I wish I could write powerfully like you because I want to express my praise for your work in a much better way....so I apologise but all I can say is you are extraordinary through and through L/F

John Alexander replied:

Thank you so much Sarah, your kind words are more appreciated than I can express... and I mean that. This image was created in memory of one of the darkest times in my life... I was in the midst of drinking myself to death. Believe me when I say that it was a very close call. So many of us follow dark and lonely paths in life... and while we do, we feel so isolated and alone... as if there are none who could feel the same painful desolation. But, it simply isn't true. There are so many kind souls who have suffered silently during their own trials by fire. There are so many, who like me, have made it through the darkness and into the light. Of the myriads of things I am thankful for, the ability to share these thoughts and experiences in the form of art is one of the things that I am the most thankful for. As always, your kind words humble me Sarah. Please feel free to share your thoughts at any time.
