Thanks Carole, kendall, Alokananda and Al Stewart for your comments, Behind the glory is one of my favourite paintings and my first experiment with acrylic medium done in 2004. I desire that God should heal and elevate my audience through this painting. It was done in one of my most challenging time in life and sometimes when I was troubled it heals my broken heart. I started this drawing first by playing around the circles and eventually manipulated into the head of a woman. Al Stewart has the clue of this event, showing the state of her mind, the Queen as though despite her challenges in this context was able to win the crown as the Queen. The Yoruba cultural heritage believes that the Glory of a king is a Queen and there is always a competition as to who becomes the Queen by displaying their skills in dancing and natural beauty in such a way that it appeals to the crowd and pleases the king. Many ladies wishes to become the Queen, but not every lady knows the right purpose and SECRET Behind the Glory of a Queen and the ability to pay the price needed to become a Queen. But this lady has demonstrated God as her SECRET by reaching her hand towards heaven for her success, this is her little SECRET behind her Glory as to being the outstanding Queen in a CONTEXT of life. On the left she wore a crown that the Yoruba tribe called Ade on top of her head, below the crown is a leaf call akoko- (a Yoruba symbol or coronation), on her neck is ileke- beads, whch is a symbolic to royalty. On the right the king holding –irukere: horsetail is symbolic to the kings and chiefs, behind the king is the messenger holding Opa Ase: staff of authority and the chiefs sitting next to the king. The drums and sekere : calabash laced with beads are for the melody of the competition. The choices of colours is to depite the love, exitements, joy, hope and dignity in this royal context. Anyway,t hanks for appreciating the Yoruba cultural Heritage dispayed in the Painting.

Wale, this is a WONDERFUL WORK OF ART, you have given us a window into your magnificient cultural heritage with this historical piece. The colors, the characters the composition, all superbly painted. I hope that you will write a descrition to better educate your viewers who are separated not only by many thousands of miles, but by continents, we would love to know more about all the events that you have depicted here.

Wonderful color contrast and spacing! Thank you for your kind comments on my work. Also, thank you for hosting the competition. I was so glad to win third place. The painting of Clyde and Alan is the only painting I won't sell.

I like the way you played with colour in this piece of work, the colour is expressing inner joy

A queen's recollection of her past youth, is fresh in her mind as she look on other maidens in her royal court. Trying to understand the meaning behind this beautiful piece.

This was a birthday gift for my husband. We took our first trip to Paris in April and fell in love with Montmartre. When I saw this print, I knew it was perfect. Thank you!

The artwork reflects exactly how I feel. Seems we are always killing/rejecting the very one who could safe us all.

The image is very Florida and the colors are so exciting that it stands out and stands with my brightly painted walls.

This second image accompanies the first and again has brilliant colors that look great with my decor and interior colors, and has an association to water which is also part of the area it entertains.
