In the winter, Hale Passage is often smooth as a duck pond between tides. On this particular evening, the colors seemed both vivid and delicate at the same time. The view of Bellingham is from just south of the ferry dock on Lummi Island. The sun shining on the city with the crisp, cool stillness of the water in between was captivating. It was a brief, magical moment.
