Description
Best in class by Karen Cook -so how cute are these two oxen?
Oxen were first introduced to Nova Scotia in the early 1600s and are still used today. The oxen are usually worked in a team and are trained to be on a specific side of the team. An unusual and somewhat endearing fact is that most oxen here in Nova Scotia are always called by the same names! Lion and Bright.. Bright is always on the right side..and Lion is always the ox on the left.
These two were the youngest oxen at the Annapolis Valley Exhibition in Lawrencetown Nova Scotia this year and were best in class. I think they were definitely the cutest in class!
