I happened to be driving on Ocean Drive in South Beach Miami looking for a parking spot, when I noticed a rather large bunny. I quickly pulled out my camera and took a snapshot through the windshield.
HISTORY
In 1870, South Beach was completely different from what we know and vision South Beach as it is today. In 1870, South Beach was predominantly unsettled farmland. In that year the Lum brothers decided to purchase the 160 acres of land to grow coconuts. From this a daughter of one of the Lum brothers named the land South Beach and the name did not stick until later on. The brothers decided in 1894 to leave the land to John Collins and after receiving the property he then discovered fresh sea water and expanded his parcel further to what is now 67th street.
For the rest of the day, I photographed just some sea gulls and pelicans.
I got my first Czech-made 35mm Etareta film camera in early 60's from my father (who used it for at least another fifteen years before me) and have been photographing and developing prints ever since. The other passions are travelling and love of nature that go well with photography. Over the last ten years, I published a series of four panorama books covering Toronto and the "near North" region in Ontario, and my prints have been sold by number of local galleries.
