About Peter Pfeffer
Peter was born in Coney Island and lived there through his pre-teen formative years, before moving to other exotic areas of Brooklyn. The experiences of those early years, and the surreal visual environment which enveloped him, including the beaches, boardwalk, and amusement parks, became the tableaux which informed his life and work. During college, while studying architecture, Peter immersed himself in the cutting edge and emerging art of the 70's. Peter crafted a career as an urban designer on development projects in the borough of Manhattan, specializing in, among other endeavors, waterfront planning. He received a National Endowment for the Arts grant to develop and design a public waterfront along the length of the East River,...
