Description
This is an image of an original oil painting from my 'American Landscapes' series. It is a combination of realism and my artistic interpretation of a view at 'Spider Island' in the Chicago Botanic Garden, Illinois, on a late autumn afternoon after light snowfall. The warm late afternoon sunlight highlights the trunks of almost leafless birch trees and creates a fiery effect in the ground foliage. The warm colours contrast with the cool blues and mauves of the snowfall.
