A little wooden, handcrafted bird, with bright blue feathers and glued on colorful sparkles for highlights, is sitting inside, right in the corner, of this window for passersby to enjoy. It's attached to the side of the window by a twisted wire. The window frame, which is painted a deep blue-green, has clearly been painted over many times, and the textures of previous layers and weathering are evident. To complete the rather rustic scene, an old-fashioned lace curtain is pulled back just enough to provide a sweet frame for the bird. This seemed to me to be one of those open-ended scenes for which the viewers can have the pleasure of providing the back stories of their choice.
Although much of my career had been in editing and writing, I have been delighted for some time to concentrate on both photography and artistic creations based on photography. Through this medium I thoroughly enjoy the world, from city to suburb to country, from my roots in the US Midwest to fascinating Florida, to Ohio, where I now live.
